Marriott Traveler

CHALLENGE
Move Marriott from a hotel company to a travel company and publisher by winning the SEO game.

SOLUTION
I created Marriott’s first editorial platform, Marriott Traveler, in March 2015. My vision was to create a site that gives you access to the most unique local experiences you can’t find anywhere else. Time-boxed for the day traveler or an extended adventurer. We created content partnerships with influencers like Jacks Gap and Sonia Gil.

I developed brand positioning, identity, UX, Content Strategy, Brand and Content Guidelines. I sat in a room with my team and ideated, in two days, over 300 pieces of content for launch that included videos, infographics, articles, repeatable formats with influencers. For all video repeatable formats, I co-wrote and produced the videos in partnership with Crazy Legs production.

RESULTS
Marriott Traveler is a revenue positive media site. We generate over $1mm in revenue every month.
• 2016: Marriott Traveler won Digiday’s 2016 Award for best new publication.
• 2016: Webby Awards
• Over 100,000 site visitors  in the first 6 months
• Currently 600-700k visitors per month
